On first glance at the top 10 most valuable brands and you will see a trend of companies that have come to dominate their respective industry or service, apart from the advertising heavy automobile industry. Coca-cola is one of the few food and beverage companies on the list simply because it managed to dominate its specific market as well as advertise heavily throughout its history across the globe. At a second glance, the top brands also share a remarkable ability to drive change, growth and follow consumer demands. Each focus on the consumer experience in terms of improving their product and entering new markets and are the market leaders in doing just that. Technology and automotive brands dominated the rankings, taking 29 spots on the top 100. More specifically, the rankings were determined based on financial performance, customer influence and its power to command a premium price driving company sales. Hence why social network Facebook did not make the list, but was featured in the world’s top growth brands. New entrants were Tesla and Dior whilst Hugo Boss, Chevrolet and Kleenex fell from the list.
