Domino’s Pizza will use Starship Technologies’ self-driving robots for deliveries in Germany and the Netherlands.
Editor’s Remarks: The deal means big exposure for Starship, the three-year-old UK-based startup whose six-wheeled pavement crawlers will be rolled out to select German and Dutch cities to customers within a one-mile radius of the branches in the scheme. Domino’s CEO said the move is made necessary by the lack of delivery drivers to suit its growth plans for the next decade. It is unclear whether the drones will have any defence mechanisms fitted to ward off hungry passers-by.
