Toyota Industries agreed to buy Vanderlande, a Dutch logistics firm, for €1.2bn.
Editor’s Remarks: Toyota Industries is an affiliate of the Japanese carmaker of the same name. The firm is continuing its current bet on the growing e-commerce industry. Last month it bought US logistic software producer Bastian Solutions for $260m. Vanderlande, on the other hand, is well known for creating baggage and parcel handling equipment. However, it also builds systems for warehouses and other logistics firms.
