Editor’s remarks:
Despite Apple expecting to sell somewhere around 50m phones over the next few months, smartphone orders in total are expected to plateau over the next year but jump when far more anticipated products are released such as the iPhone 8. Smartphones are going to see the biggest growth in developing nations and Apple will see its greatest competition arise from local cheaper products. The biggest concern for major players such as Huawei, Samsung and Apple is that the smartphone is a stagnating market and that something new will break the market wide open like the iPod and iPhone did previously. Although Samsung and Apple have not been very successful in the wearables industry, the focus on developing new products and innovating is almost more important than the product itself.
