Only a few years after making no revenue from mobile, Facebook is now making most of its money from mobile ads. Facebook seemingly took a page out of Google’s book and created multiple products from its primary service and forced users to use them. For instance, the creation of their messenger app which you are taken to when clicking messages on their mobile app. Additionally, Facebook reduced the barriers for other app developers to allow their users to sign in through Facebook mobile. Facebook shows no signs of slowing down with their number of active users continuing to rise and their pace of keeping up with customer mobility not slowing. Zuckerberg’s vocal interest in bots and virtual reality hint that Facebook’s desire to continue to innovate is still there.
