Chart of the Day: Twitter’s Getting Crushed

Twitter has fallen by about 60% in the last one year in contrast to Facebook, which is up 35% in the same period. Despite the return of founder Jack Dorsey last year, the messaging platform continues to be beset by product and engineering troubles, while user growth remains in the doldrums. Senior executives have also been leaving the company recently making investors even more nervous about Twitter’s ability to turn things around. However, with a market cap now of around $10bn, there is a good probability Twitter could be taken over by one of the global technology companies who have so far struggled to establish their presence in the social media space.
