Editor’s Remarks:
The total number of air passengers has doubled in the last 15 years, up to over 3.4bn people flying in 2015. The number is set to reach 3.6bn this year. Considering the growing demand, airline companies are looking to further expand capacity and reach new destinations. With interest rates at record lows, market uncertainty about Brexit and a slowdown in orders for aircrafts, buyers are enjoying significant discounts for jets. It’s a buyers market.
The Farnborough Airshow got off to a slow start this year and participants are predicting it will not match the record £204bn in contracts announced last year.
