In a year that saw Mobile searches surpass desktop, it makes sense that e-commerce would quickly follow into the mobile market. What must be seen as a victory for consumers is the massive variety of apps available to shop with. Retail apps are seen as disruptive forces which are connecting consumers more directly with sellers, eliminating the distributors and allowing for a greater variety of sellers. Many apps now simply focus on showing you alternate retailers who sell the same product for cheaper. The number of feet moving on the ground is steadily decreasing by the millions each year. Perhaps it is safe to say, the retail industry has been truly disrupted, the next question will be which famous retailer names will disappear first.
