The European airline has announced new transatlantic flights from a market-challenging $65.
Editor’s Remarks: The plans mark a defining challenge to industry rivals as Norwegian Air expands its network of flights from Europe to the US, across which the new flights will start from around June this year. Its strategy has spurred change from rivals: IAG, for example, which owns British Airways, has said Norwegian’s carrier model pushed it to operate differently, and Air France and Lufthansa have both pushed forward plans for budget long-haul flights. Staying ahead of the price curve seems to have helped Norwegian take off in recent years: its revenue has doubled since 2012, for example.
