The Fed Governor Lael Brained will speak today along with the Atlanta and Minneapolis Fed Presidents in a last minute speech decision.
Editor’s Remarks: The Fed governing committee is being more vocal than usual. Perhaps this is a shift that current leadership under Yellen is encouraging, however, it is putting the Fed more in the limelight. In the final run-up to what is becoming one of the great debates of the year, several planned speeches by Fed committee members got a media boost by the addition of Fed Governor Brainard to speak on Monday as well. Later in the week, more numbers on the US economy will be revealed but whether Brainard’s comments are more dovish or hawkish will truly be the last signal of where the Fed is most likely lean come its meeting. It seems markets expect all to be revealed at the end of Monday.
