I am particularly passionate about political economy as I have always seen the importance of politics in aiding my understanding of Economics. I have a particularly keen interest in the United States' affairs.
My interests lie in the fields of Corporate Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions (particularly concerning activity in the natural resources, technology and consumer spheres), Emerging Market Activity and Markets in the Asia-Pacific region.
My main interest about finance rests in the analysis of major events that might lead to macroeconomic movements, consequently impacting financial trends.
More specifically, my will is to be able to provide a reasoning at the crossroads between economic news, financial understanding, and sociological deduction.
Currently I am taking the time to explore all areas of finance in order to make an informed decision as to the career path I would like to initially take once graduating from university. The areas that particularly interest me are PE and Asset and Investment Management. I have previously had work experience in Asset Management, Retail Brokering and Trading. This summer (2017) I will be interning at BDO in the Business Assurance department which will provide me with in-depth exposure to businesses which I have not previously had.
I am very passionate about financial markets and particularly about investment management. IM industry is the epicentre of global events; from politics to extreme weather and anything affecting the markets is relevant. This gives me a sense of entirety which is really motivating since it allows to see the big picture.
I am passionate about Investments and Risk Management practices, what excites me about these fields of Finance are the ideas. You get to put your ideas to the test and bet on them, good ideas generally make money, bad ideas lose money. You can't cheat that, you can't talk your way out of it. The numbers are the numbers, and they add up. This truly is a meritocracy. The more you develop yourself, the more successful you will be. That is what fascinates me about finance.
Passionate about entrepreneurship, creativity, technology and innovations in the Space Technology. I am interested in how innovation is the driving factor for the technology and creativity sector and what it takes to grow economies via traditional businesses supplemented by new methods of implementation.
As a former investment banker with JPMorgan Chase Bank, I gained an insight into how to value businesses and understand markets. Having studied finance, law, and economics, I have developed a nuanced understanding of how businesses function. In addition, having worked as a banker, lawyer, stock trader, and management consultant, has provided me an opportunity to identify financial opportunities and advise businesses on how to capitalize on them. As such, I intend to write about global financial markets, real estate, international politics, and macro economics.
